Director of Operations
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Director of Operations in North Hills, CA.
Job Description:
Responsible for leading and overseeing all operations activities including Planning, Purchasing, Supplier Management, Materials Management, and Production.
Accountable for all Operations staff activities and providing leadership, clear direction and mentoring to the Operations team. Interfaces with stakeholders and collaborates with a variety of other functional areas in order to deliver program and company results that achieve business goals and objectives and ensure all activities adhere to the contract obligations, FAA quality standards and are responsive to the customers’ needs and market opportunities. Identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives and ensuring all program activities are executed in accordance with established processes and procedures.
Qualifications and requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science or other related field; an MBA or other relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred
- A strong process orientation and a demonstrated ability to collect and use data and financial metrics in planning business activities
- Experience in annual budgeting, organizational planning and strategy
- Exposure to quality control and continuous improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of supply chain management
- Basic knowledge of finance
- Familiarity with MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint - you will build your own presentations and financial models and must be fluent in MS Office
- Familiarity with commercial aviation and a basic understanding of industry terminology
- Experience as the accountable operations leader (COO, VP Ops, etc.) in a smaller business with P&L responsibility as the business scaled from a small initial base
- A strong background in technology environments, including program/project management, agile/lean development, etc.
- A track record of leading fast growth
- A demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into project specs, drive those specs to completed product, and manage product roll-out and post-sales support
- A proven ability to create structure, including implementing process and procedures, building teams, etc.

- Familiarity with cloud and software development programs
- Experience directly leading technology teams and managing engineers, developers, etc.
