Senior Design Engineer

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for an opportunity in Bothell, WA

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The position of Senior Design Engineer is one of great importance to the success of company programs.  He or she is depended upon by the other team members for direction, guidance, information and supervision. The Senior Design Engineer is responsible and accountable for the performance of the team in regard to budgets, schedule commitments, and the quality and integrity of the design and the documentation package.  The Senior Design Engineer is responsible to the customer in regard to customer schedules, budgets, design integrity and quality, milestones and delivery of the final product.

 Qualifications and requirements:

• Engineering degree or a comparable knowledge of engineering principles, concepts and practices gained through a combination of engineering courses and on-the-job experience, at the manager’s discretion.

• Minimum six years working experience in a related tool engineering environment, or equivalent. Requires minimum 10+ years of related experience without an engineering degree, or equivalent, at the manager’s discretion. Work experience must be directly related to the design, tooling, manufacturing, and final assembly of aircraft or other flight vehicles.

• A history of progressively increasing responsibilities and accountability including at least one year in the role of Senior Engineer, project engineer or leading or directing the work of other engineers and/or designers.

• Must be a skilled operator of V4 or V5 CATIA software. Other CAD experience such as AutoCAD or Unigraphics is desirable but not required.

• Hands-on working knowledge of three-dimensional computer aided design systems, preferably CATIA®.

• If applicable, must be able to perform stress analysis using hand calculations, ALGOR or STAAD FEA.
