VP of Operations - Direct Hire

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a VP of Operations in Texas.

 

Job Title: Vice President of Operations and Maintenance
Department: Operations


SUMMARY: Responsible for the planning, leading, organizing, staffing and overall
management of the Airfield Maintenance, Airport Operations, and Building Maintenance
departments with general direction from the CEO.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related
duties may be assigned:


• Lead the operations and maintenance departments.
• Perform executive level planning and operational decisions relating to the
inspection, maintenance, and repair of airfield facilities on a medium hub
airport / airfield.
• Form relationships with airport tenants and address their concerns and needs.
• Conduct monthly tenant manager meetings to communicate airport activities to
tenants and to gather feedback across the entire airport system.
• Oversee the budgets for Airfield Maintenance, Building Maintenance,
Operations, and the Airport.
• Coordinate projects and programs with department heads. Hold regular staff
meetings to communicate with and update employees on objectives and
pending issues.
• Ensure preventative maintenance and construction projects are on schedule,
within budget and properly closed out.
• Ensure documents and associated plans are up to date and modified as
necessary. Ex. FAR Part 145 Repair Station
• Attend and participate in public meetings with various community stakeholders
including but not limited to residents, airport tenants, political leaders and
pilots.
• Responsible for the operations and management of facilities at the general
aviation airports.
• Make recommendations on replacement of equipment for capital planning
purposes.
• Act as Airport Emergency Operations Center (AEOC) manager during
incidents.
• Form relationships with applicable State and Federal Agencies (FAA, DOT).
• Responsible for the operations and maintenance of the facility
• Respond to emergency situations as necessary and coordinate associated
activities for the airport.
• Ensure airport’s successful passage of necessary testing and inspections by
applicable outside agencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

• A thorough working knowledge and experience in FAR Part 145 repair station certification
compliance.
• A thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations.
• A thorough knowledge of methods of repair and maintenance activities, materials,
and equipment used in aircraft maintenance.
• A working knowledge of the methods of maintenance and repair of equipment and
machinery, including familiarity of newer and more sophisticated apparatus.
• Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Excellent problem-solving ability.
• Ability to follow highly complex directions.
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
• Complete and pass a Transportation Security Administration/Federal Aviation
Administration (TSA/FAA) employment history verification, which will include
fingerprinting and a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) prior to being considered
for this position. This status must be maintained for the duration of employment at the
airport.
• Must be available to call back in the event of an emergency and must be willing to work
irregular hours.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in aviation/aeronautical/business.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience at a small medium
or a large hub is required.
• Experience in direct management of collective bargaining units strongly preferred.
• Master’s degree in business management or public administration preferred.

• May need to stay awake for extended hours during emergency situations.
• Ability to drive and walk around the airfield.
• Ability to sit at desk for long periods of time.
