Program Buyer

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Associate Purchasing Agent  for an opportunity in Bellingham, WA.

 

Summary:

The Associate Purchasing Agent works with purchasing department to correctly enter orders accurately and in a timely manor.

 

Job duties and responsibilities

• Facilitation and management of qualified supplier contract negotiations
• Develop, maintain, and administer bid solicitations and request for quote (RFQ) documents
• Monitor contract milestones to ensure suppliers' schedule performance meet requirements
• Assist the Manager in the development of sales proposals for customers including complete due diligence, internal cost breakdown & profit factoring that results in a written sales proposal with complete terms and conditions to customers
• Issue purchase orders and follow up with vendors as required
• Build successful, professional working relationships with suppliers
• Negotiate/implement contract terms and cost reductions for purchased materials and subcontracted processes
• Attend program milestone meetings (i.e. ITCM, PDR,CDR)
• Serve as main point of contact for all supplier activity through duration of contract
• Additional duties as assigned by manager
• Exceptions report for products purchased
• Order parts from Order action from ERP system based on contract requirements.

 

 

Qualifications and requirements:

• 1 years' experience in purchasing departments or related fields
• High School diploma required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in an applicable field preferred
• Familiarity with contract language and basic understanding of corporate legal terms a plus
• Comfortable working productively with all levels of corporate structure.

• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
• Troubleshooting/ creative problem solving
• Understanding of customer's expectations
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Concise communicator – verbally and in writing
• Basic math skills

• Primarily office setting

• Some bending, climbing, grasping and lifting

• Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds
