Design Engineer - DoD Security Clearance Required

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Level I Design Engineer gains detailed experience in Janicki Industries design procedures, standards, and expectations, working with internal stakeholders. A mentor will guide and review the incumbent’s efforts as they support engineers in the design and engineering of composite tooling, metallic tooling, or production parts. A successful Level I Design Engineer may become eligible for role advancement in the Design Engineer Job hierarchy, with additional associated opportunities and responsibilities, at the discretion of the supervisor. 

The following essential job functions are performed as a Level I Design Engineer:

  • Reports progress and reviews work regularly with a Design Engineer mentor
  • Conducts assigned designs and drawings for JI projects to SOW specifications
  • Ensures designs are vetted for manufacturability
  • Completes drafting and drawing package to Janicki standards
  • Capable of self-managing multiple simultaneous projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.

 QUALIFICATIONS

U.S. PERSON STATUS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.

PROOF OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP OR PERMANENT RESIDENCY REQUIRED DUE TO ACCESS TO SENSITIVE DATA AND OUR COVERAGE UNDER EAR AND ITAR REGULATIONS.

Department of Defense Security Clearance Required.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred. Education may be substituted with equivalent industry experience.

Must have strong communication skills through written, verbal, and graphical mediums in the English language

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software, experience with CAD software, and competency in engineering and statistical analysis is required

 

DESIGN ENGINEER LEVEL I GOALS

  • Implement effective design using CATIA and NX CAD software
  • Improve technical writing, drafting, and analysis skills
  • Provide successful design support for multiple projects and product types
