5+ years experience, possess the required skills and certification for the assigned location; e.g. Certification by the ASE program to attain Master School Bus Technician standards, possession of a Red Seal endorsed interprovincial certificate as certified journeyman, Ontario Truck and Coach certification (310T) etc.)
Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, Company policy and standards related to the maintenance of Company vehicles.
Thorough knowledge of the practices, techniques, procedures, materials and appropriate use and maintenance of special tools and test equip.
Knowledge of current technology used in the repair and diagnosis of vehicles, equipment, and component systems
Knowledge of safe work practices, including hazardous materials
Knowledge of supervisory and training techniques and methods.
Significant auto or truck technical repair and preventive maintenance experience
Knowledge of and experience using computers and software to access technical info, enter repair and maintenance data and interpret shop management reports
Generally Tech I, minimum Tech II skills and abilities. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize the work of oneself and others.
Must possess tools necessary to perform the work assigned as outlined in the Tool Requirements Policy
HS diploma or equivalent, automotive or truck training preferred.
Valid license/certification to operate company vehicles, ASE certification, Master or equivalent preferred.
Supervises day-to-day shop activities, makes work assignments, monitors, mentors skilled and semi skilled technicians.
Assigns duties, plans, leads, directs techs, and provides training, in addition to performing repairs
Orders parts and supplies, maintains inventory to company standards.
Supports the Fleet Management admin function
