Quality Engineer

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer for an opportunity in Redmond, WA

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The Quality Engineer works within a wider team of quality professionals with the overall aim of maintaining the quality of the final product. They do so by following the quality management systems of the manufacturing process.

Successful quality engineer will ensure that final products are safe and meet customer expectations while keeping the manufacturing process as effective and cost-efficient as possible.

The Quality Engineer will work with various stakeholders, at every part of the manufacturing process.

This is a “hands on” position requiring solid CMM programming and operational knowledge and experience.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Possess the technical/engineering background to handle the day-to-day issues with product quality
  • Analyzing production limitations and standards and recommending revision of specifications or drawing changes when indicated.
  • Responsible for creating Inspections plans for all orders that manufactured in the shop.
  • Formulate quality policies and procedures as well as conducting training on quality concepts and tools
  • Sustaining and improving the quality management systems.
  • Creating and maintaining company documentation, such as quality manuals, and quality procedures.
  • Maintaining and controlling calibration records for all test and inspection equipment.
  • Performing tests and measurements using existing measurement equipment.
  • Program and operate a CMM. CMM Manager experience preferred. 
  • Represent the company in direct and daily interactions with customers, customer quality inspectors and other customer representatives in professional, respectful and tactful interactions.
  • Responsible for aiding in the AS9100 processes, internal and accredited audits, management review meetings corrective actions and their resolutions.
  • Create, foster and maintain a healthy quality culture the produces repeatable results, satisfies demanding customer requirements and never stops improving.
  • Use various precision measuring devices to perform required inspections, verify conformance of incoming materials, in process work, and finished work to specifications.

 

Required Skills and Education

 

  • Expert experience with CMM software: CMM Manager (preferred), PC-DMIS
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to work with a broad cross-section of people and personalities
  • Team player with outstanding ability to maintain a positive, can do, professional attitude in the face of conflicting priorities and changing requirements.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection equipment, control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Experience working in an aerospace AS 9100 manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Desired Experience and Skills, but not required

 

  • Working knowledge and experience with DPD and other standard Boeing systems, procedures and protocols.
  • ASQ Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Field
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
