About the Role
Looking for a Autonomous Vehicle Operations Manager to oversee Bring Up tech operations. This role will be based in Livonia MI and will collaborate with Field Engineering, Operations, and multiple other groups across the company.
Candidates should have strong attention to detail, leadership ability, problem solving skills, diagnostic abilities, and mechanical prowess. Integrity and good judgment are required at all times, as well as the ability to support and strengthen a team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Partnering with HW, Maintenance Planning and Fleet engineering to ensure the that the team is executing to fleet ramp plans and is aligned with the necessary tasks/requirements to bring AVs from GM physical build to proper fleet standards before introducing them to the commercial fleet
- Communicate and raise issues, as appropriate, with internal and external teams
- Act as a liason, track throughput, work orders, cycle inventory time
- Work as a point of escalation on issues throughout production
- Assisting technician team with service of electrical, mechanical, and integration issues on autonomous vehicles and their equipment.
- Auditing of technician work and documentation validating adherence to operational processes and service instructions and sharing feedback as needed to support individual and team growth
What You Must Have
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to take initiative
- Past successful team leadership/ management experience
- A desire to learn and an open mind to critical feedback
- A proven track record of emphasizing safety and quality of work
- Ability to give and receive clear, timely, understandable verbal and written feedback
- Ability to anticipate future issues and mitigate them before they become operational setbacks
- Comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment

- Experience with sensors, calibration, and/or the autonomous automotive field
- GM or other dealership training and automotive experience
