Technical Writer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA.
The Technical Writer position will require partnering with departmental Subject Matter Experts to review and update local work instructions. The Technical Writer will receive required updates, make revisions to work instructions, and reformat work instructions into the required formatting. This position will require transitioning local work instructions into standardized work cards and transitioning local work instructions into reference videos. The Technical Writer should be self-motivated and have exceptional organizational skills.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years in the aviation maintenance environment or equivalent training and experience.
- Airframe and Powerplant license and/or technical degree preferred.
- Engine and/or component repair/overhaul experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of engine, component and aircraft repair manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC)/Illustrated Parts List (IPL), and manufacturer standard practice manuals.
- Must be able to interpret engineering documents/drawings, analytical reports, and Federal Aviation Regulations and Airworthiness Directives.
- Process improvement and problem solving background with strong analytical skills desired.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Strong computer skills required with experience in MS Office products required and Adobe Professional.
- Must be able to perform under pressure with little supervision
- Familiarization with Adobe Pro and Microsoft Office is a must. Previous experience with CORENA Studio and Camtasia 9 is highly desired.
