Machinist IV

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Machinist with experience performing repairs on on commercial aircraft for an opportunity in Hagerstown, MD.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • As a Machinist IV, you'll complete the fabrication of requested material to achieve defined specifications and provide responsive emergency fabrication support. You'll apply your knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments and fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain our machines and equipment. You'll write more complex programs for engineering drawings for machined part fabrication.

The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Setup, program, and operate CNC Mills to machine parts in accordance with drawings. Setup involves mounting and indicating fixtures and vises, setting cutting tools and associated tool offsets, setting work offsets, and checking finished work.

     

    Must-haves:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
      • A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
      • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
    • Advanced knowledge and experience with the practical application of machining techniques
    • Advanced experience with machining tools and equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings
    • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators

     

    Preferred:

    • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
