Program Engineer - Composites
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Program Engineer for an opportunity in Hayden, ID.
Essential Functions
- Performs a variety of complex tasks relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish the job. These tasks encompass the full life of a program. The Program Engineer is involved from early customer contact through program completion. Involvement may include all phases of program conception, estimating, design, development, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and initial logistic support. Some programs involve multiple units and can extend over many years.
- Support manufacturing operations throughout the project’s lifetime, including new product introduction (NPI), tooling design, new manufacturing equipment selection and installation, failure investigation, design of experiments, process improvement, and cost reduction.
- Monitors technical performance of assigned programs. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.

Skills & Abilities
- Engineering experience supporting a manufacturing organization is required. Project management experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with composites manufacturing, including the following equipment and processes, is preferred:
1. Filament winding of composite tow-preg
2. Hand layup
3. Autoclave and platen press cure of composites
4. Honeycomb core machining
5. Ultrasonic non-destructive inspection of composite assemblies
6. 5-axis CNC machining
7. Adhesive bonding and assembly methods
8. Fabrication of composite helicopter rotor blades
- Specialized knowledge of composite manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP) is preferred.
- Specialized knowledge of aerospace (commercial and military) contracting and procurement requirements and understanding of financial and labor cost systems and production processes.
- Occasional business travel, with the ability for short notice and extended travel may be required
