Production Mechanic/Stationary Equipment Mechanic
Cockeysville, MD
Shift: M-F 2nd 4pm - 12am
Pay: up to $23 depending on experience
Performs preventive and skilled diagnostic repair and maintenance work on production equipment and other equipment as required.
Production Mechanic/Stationary Equipment Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs, repairs, rebuilds and maintains mechanical equipment, including heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Ensures that the installation and repair of equipment complies with agency policy and local codes and regulations.
- Replaces units or parts, such as gears, bearings and filters.
- Tests newly installed and pre-existing mechanical equipment.
- Orders replacement parts for equipment.
- Identifies and confirms time frame for completion of repairs.
- Assists managers with planning and scheduling of maintenance projects.
- Uses precision tools such as micrometer migs, dial indicators and RPM indicators.
- Assists managers in training staff in proper equipment maintenance techniques.
- Works with management and other maintenance staff to develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for mechanical equipment and vehicles.
- Operates county vehicles.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Production Mechanic/Stationary Equipment Mechanic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience performing installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment. Or - formal schooling from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field may be substituted for experience. Or - education experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to 3 years of the required experience.
- Must be able to pass standard physical exam.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
