IFE Design Engineer

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a IFE Design Engineer for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA

 

Position Summary

 

Creates, evaluates, qualifies and revises designs used in In-Flight Entertainment Systems. Will evaluate products, parts, or processes for adherence to all requirements, cost efficiency and reliability.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Implement the system architecture in conjunction with marketing and product line development for various aircraft platforms. 
  • Serve as the main technical interface for the aircraft platform between the airframer, product line manager and airlines. 
  • Participate in project design review meetings to ensure design meets intended requirements.
  • Develop system engineering test plans and assure the execution of the plan and reports. Develop relationships with Airframer and retrofit engineering teams, leading to successful system integration and collaboration. 
  • Collect and document system architecture and cabin system interface requirements into system specifications and block diagrams. 
  • Define system engineering evaluation, functional, and operational testing. 
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. 
  • Position will require both domestic and international travel.  

 

Skills & Abilities

  • B.S. in engineering or related scientific field. EE, IE, or CS preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 years Mechanical Design Engineering experience
  • Strong computer skills including 2D/3D CAD systems and MS Office
  • PLM experience is a plus
  • Must be able to effectively utilize aircraft continued airworthiness data
  • Previous work experience performing design engineering of products and systems used in In-Flight Entertainment or Avionics systems
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must have good interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, critical thinker with project management skills. Knowledge of aircraft interior cabin electrical, avionics and entertainment systems. 
  • Solid understanding of industry standards.
