- Knowledge of applying adhesives, primers and topcoats with HVLP spray equipment
- Familiar with mix ratios and capable of understanding and following process specifications
- Able to read aerospace blueprints and specifications
- Problem solving attributes
- Ability to work in fast-paced moving line/ batch process environment (works with one-piece flow)
- Loads and moves materials to work area
- Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated as necessary
- Installs specified nozzles in spray guns
- Fills pin holes as required to attain smooth surface.
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
- Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
- Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray
- Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
- Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with necessary tools
- Cleans spraying equipment with solvent and replaces screens and filters
