Quality Assurance Engineer

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for an opportunity in Savannah, GA.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The Quality Assurance Engineer develops and maintains optimum methods of controlling quality and/or reliability of product or service in assigned areas such as: statistical methods, tooling and gaging, inspection methods, and program planning. Responsible for providing technical support in the conduct of investigations on known Quality issues. Implements plans and instructions in support of departmental policies. The QAE will work to determine Root cause and corrective action for known Quality issues using the 8D methodology and validated by the audit group. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and develops and promotes a good working relationship with local regulatory authorities. Ensures a safe, conforming and quality product is delivered to our customers.

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems or related technical field.  An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) may be used with 4 years of related experience (in addition to the experience requirements below) in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • An ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as a FAA recognized airworthiness designee highly preferred.
  • Two (2) years quality assurance/control, manufacturing operations and/or military operations experience is required. Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical tools used for problem resolution.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience or greenbelt preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e. Assembly, Machining, Special Process, Inspection, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Proficient computer skills.
