Stress Engineer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Stress Engineer for an opportunity in Independence, OH.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Perform Stress Analysis for Engine Build Up (EBU) detail components and Systems.
- Formulates structural analysis of a complex nature using hand calculations and computer analysis.
- Conducts static stress, fatigue stress, fracture and fatigue structural analysis of aerospace components.
- Defines, directs and documents structural repair designs to assess the structural integrity of metallic and non-metallic aerospace products.
- Provides direction to others in stress analysis and acts as technical stress lead on assigned projects.
- Resolves technical problems of complex scope.
- Coordinate with customers and suppliers and support design reviews.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and lean events.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 16+ years of directly related stress analysis experience required
- Background in mechanical systems structures analysis (classical hand analysis and finite element skills).
- Nastran & Patran experience.
- Aircraft/airframe stress experience.
- Experience with EBU components or Nacelle systems preferred.
- Good communication skills, team oriented, PC/Unix computing skills. Proficiency in MSOffice suite (Excel, Word, PPT etc.)
