Production Operator/Forklift Operator
Shift: 6AM - 2PM and 1PM - 9PM (alternating shifts every week) Monday - Friday
Pay: $19 per hour
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates a variety of equipment in a production environment, such as loaders, dozers, excavators, forklifts, trucks, tub grinders, balers, skid-loader, conveyor lines, mowers and screening equipment.
- Staff assigned to recycling services sites will also operate specialized equipment, including shredders, raspers, granulators, air filtration equipment, baggers and compactors.
- Assures all equipment fluid levels are in proper working condition and that all safety devices are in the equipment prior to operation.
- Performs minor maintenance and repair equipment on a daily basis including cleaning, greasing and fueling.
- Performs routine manual labor tasks such as grounds and facility maintenance, loading and delivering supplies and materials, and cleaning.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, plus 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Must be able to pass a standard physical exam.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must use hands and arms to handle equipment.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to service equipment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Work Environment:
This position may require work in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
