Body Shop Mechanic

LAUNCH TransTechs is seeking a Body Shop Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs, repair damaged parts and body of heavy duty equipment. The shop services trucks, tractors, trailers, box trucks and box trailers.

Shift: 1st, M - F 7am - 5pm 
Pay: $17 - $25 per hour, depending on experience

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs skilled and complicated bodywork on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimum supervision.
• Repair or replace damaged body parts back to pre-damage condition to company specifications through metal work, Bondo or Fiberglass. Typically focused on larger or more complex damage.
• Responsible to weld steel, aluminum, and repair on all types of trucks.
• Repair all types for fiberglass, plastic body parts, adjust, and modify all heavy duty body components.
• Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal-cutting guns, air grinders, and wrenches, and install replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
• Other duties as required to support operations.

Qualifications and requirements:

• The equivalent of High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year's related experience in truck/auto collision repair and/or heavy truck or auto body repair.
• Experience with Corrosion repair, MIG & ARC Welding, Torch and Plasma Cutting, and Metal Fabrication.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, spending time bending, climbing and stooping.
• Must have own set of tools.
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Must have own steel toe boots.
• CDL preferred, but not required.
