Manufacturing Engineer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to review process planning and manufacturing instructions with machinists and operators on the manufacturing floor in Macomb, Michigan.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review process planning and manufacturing instructions with machinists and operators on the manufacturing floor. This includes sketch sheets for high speed spur gears, bevel gears and shafts, as well as ancillary functions like deburr, sand blast, part marking, etc.
- Investigating root cause of rejections that occur during the manufacturing and assembly of precision rotating parts and other components
- Determining possible corrective actions to resolve the problem and eliminate repeat occurrences
- The Manufacturing Engineer will have the authority to make decisions on and implement appropriate corrective / preventative action.
- This employee shall also be required to perform other tasks on occasion including but not limited to auditing processes, manufacturing support, inspecting hardware, travel, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- This employee will be part of changing a facility to the most modern techniques of manufacturing including IoT, advanced data acquisition and variable analysis. Must have ability to work with all types of people and process to help manage the change.
Qualifications and requirements:
- 3 year's manufacturing and process planning experience with carburized precision rotating parts
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience in Implementation of IoT and other forms of digital manufacturing a plus.
- Cloud based data storage and analysis knowledge a plus
- Familiarity with basic precision measuring tools
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Basic Computer Skills: proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel etc.
- Capable of effectively reading blueprints and specifications
- Three years 3D modeling experience. Preferably with Pro Engineer/Creo a plus
- Familiarity with aerospace standards and FAA regulations a plus
- Gear, 4 and 5 Axis Housing manufacturing and process planning experience a plus
- Bachelors of Science in Manufacturing Engineering or 5 years’ experience
