Quality Engineer

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer in Macomb, Michigan.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Process Engineering to generate should costs for manufacturing processes of customer parts
  • Create capacity models of department and machine.
  • Assist in digitalization of all production data and standardized work to drive facility toward fully IoT enabled manufacturing site
  • Participate in cross functional problem solving team working with direct labor solving problems brought up from the floor.
  • Calculate labor estimates from historical manufacturing data and understanding of engineering drawings, bills of material, mechanical and soldering assembly processes, equipment and tooling, and Lean Six Sigma
  • Carry out cycle time reviews (direct labor productivity) and validation, in order to participate in process improvement projects that improve product cost, delivery and cash
  • Will be expected to work with and communicate to the direct business unit as well as to cross functional teams (engineering, quality, materials, contracts and manufacturing) to support cycle time reductions and on-time delivery improvements
  • Measure and analyze product times against actual industry standard "should cost"
  • Participate in all New Product Introduction package prove out
  • Monitor and update manufacturing lead times in Visual
  • Optimize manufacturing process incorporating Environmental Health and Safety / Ergo improvements
  • Complete projects to increase process efficiency and reduce manufacturing cycle times

Qualifications and requirements:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace Quality Engineering
  • Strong analytical skills (specifically Excel, Minitab or other statistical analysis software)
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, mechanical, electrical or related field from an accredited university or college
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Enterprise Resource Planning system awareness, specifically Visual is also desired, but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
