School Bus Technician
LAUNCH TransTechs is looking for a school bus mechanic with 2+ years of diesel experience to do routine and preventative maintenance on an extensive fleet of diesel powered school buses and also assist with frequent DOT inspections regularly conducted on site.
Shift: 1st and 2nd shift available
Pay: $18 -$22 per hour, depedning on experience
School Bus Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repairs will include but not be limited to: preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, driveline, steering & suspension, electrical trouble-shooting and AC.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment and brings any unsafe practices or conditions to the attention of supervisor.
- Ensures proper work methods and techniques and ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State/Provincial and local regulations, requirements, standards and specifications and company policies.
- Records time and materials used for each assignment.
- Works under the direct supervision of immediate supervisor to receive hands-on training.
- Maintains work, time and material and equipment maintenance logs and records for self.
- Prepares, completes and submits paperwork on time and correctly on vehicle maintenance.
- Provides automotive repair and maintenance assistance to technical staff as assigned.
- Advises Lead Technician of unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and/or vehicle abuse.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualified Candidates For The School Bus Technician Position Will Have Met The Following:
- High School Diploma (GED equivalent) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in related diesel maintenance.
- Must pass DOT pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.
- Must have own tools.
- Must have own steel toe boots.
- Must have a valid drivers' license.
- ASE Certification desirable but not required.
