Upholstery Crew Chief

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Upholstery Crew Chief with corporate jet experience for an opportunity in Springfield, Illinois.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides technical guidance to technicians on aircraft maintenance, and/or engine configurations, and/or modification projects, including service bulletins, directives and enhancements. Must be up-to-date on scope of required maintenance/projects for project managers and coordinates efforts to ensure a timely turnaround.

• Responsible for all technical operations on assigned aircraft and/or modification orders.
• Guides and assists a crew of mechanics and/or shop personnel in all technical operations to ensure that quality work is accomplished successfully.
• Keeps Project Manager informed on the progress of the job.
• Identifies and orders parts required to complete jobs.
• Responsible for implementing all paperwork related to job orders. Responsible for daily job cards being signed off and returned to Production Support Department, and performing data entry on a daily basis.
• Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with all departments to ensure quality standards are met.
• Ensures that safe work practices are employed consistently on each aircraft job or throughout the shop.

Qualifications and requirements:

• FAA A&P license preferred
• Proven supervisory experience.
• 3-5 years sheet metal fabrication/maintenance exp. preferred.
• Must have the ability to think clearly, speak intelligibly on the telephone and in person
• Must have good interpersonal and verbal skills in order to interface with customers and employees.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have the minimum tools as required.
• Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
• Must be willing to work any shift.
• Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
