A&P Mechanic 

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an A&P mechanic with experience performing maintenance on turbine, jet, piston, turbo prop and general aviation aircraft for an opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

A&P Mechanics will maintain, inspect, repair, modify, overhaul and troubleshoot turbo-prop aircraft in compliance with policies, manuals, procedures and requirements.

  • Performs troubleshooting, high quality inspections, servicing and maintenance of aircraft & engine systems and components on a variety of aircraft models utilizing proper tools and equipment in a clean, safe and professional manner with no rework.
  • Accurate and timely initiation of parts and components ordering as needed.
  • Effectively references appropriate OEM Aircraft Manufacturer maintenance requirements; all FAA regulations; Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD) compliance statements applicable to aircraft product models.
  • Follows verbal instructions to complete assigned maintenance tasks. Assists with building and developing on the job training to improve overall shop proficiency, performance and technical knowledge.
  • Compliance of all Airport Authority and TSA requlations.
  • Compliance with all federal, state, local, OSHA, Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management. 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Current A&P license required (6 months of documented experience within the last 2 years).
  • 2+ years of Turbine (jet) and piston aircraft/general aviation technical experience required.
  • IA preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 91, 121, 135, and 145
  • Must have the minimum tools as required.
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
