Inspector - Quality Control

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Bench Avionics Technician with experience performing electrical and avionics related repair to aircraft components for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Inspector(s) are responsible for performing preliminary ,hidden-damage, in-process and final inspections on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturer’s instructions for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA

  • Examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to company and quality policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that they are thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools and equipment used within their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintaining proficiency in using the inspection aids in their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring that the inspection tools and equipment, including inspections aids are used to perform inspections are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed.
  • Understanding the current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations and procedures established by the manufacturer of the article(s) being inspected.
  • Ensure all inspections are properly performed and recorded and all records are properly executed before final approval for return to service of articles maintained or altered by this repair station.
  • Ensure work performed by outside sources and incorporated in articles undergoing maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration in this repair station was properly performed and documented.
  • Maintain the material of safety data sheets to ensure all personnel are aware of in-house chemical hazards.
  • Monitor shelf life items in shop the help ensure no chemicals or materials have expired beyond the stated shelf life.
  • Help ensure that all technical data on all articles overhauled or repaired by the Repair Station are secured and kept in an orderly manner. This data will include Repair Station’s process specifications, service bulletins, part specifications and related
  • FAA approved data as well as other technical data us by the Repair Station.
  • Perform periodic calibration checks on all inspection tools and test equipment used the by Repair Station and records the calibration checks.
  • Ensure that rejected and unserviceable parts are handled in a way to prevent their return to service as serviceable parts.
  • Perform internal audits
  • Make warranty determinations based on history, unit condition and prior work performed.
  • Execute scrap program procedures.
  • Correct and maintain test procedures.
  • Perform parts rejections on parts failing minimum quality standards.
  • Perform equivalency checks and determinations for chemicals, paints, mil-specs, etc, and locate suppliers for same.
  • Photograph damaged units and attach to service orders.

Qualifications and requirements: 

  • Knowledgeable with FARs
  • Knowledgeable with inspection methods, equipment and tools to determine airworthiness of article or unit
  • Able to perform inspections on maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations done to articles
  • Able to use mechanical, electronic and visual inspection aids
  • Knowledge of basic electronic theory
  • 3 or more years of experience in aviation.
  • Understand, read and write English.
  • Communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of CMMs
  • Read and interpret schematics
  • Basic math knowledge
  • Basic Microsoft and Excel.
  • Pre-employment related training records
  • A&P preferred.
  • College education a plus
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
