Mechanical Design Engineer - Aircraft

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • B.S. in engineering or related scientific field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Five (3) years’ minimum engineering experience, three (3) of which will need to be in a design engineering role.
  • Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with 2D/3D CAD systems (preferably AutoCad and Solidworks) and MS Office programs.
  • Must have strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical/structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware.
  • Must possess working knowledge of substantiation techniques and FAA regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to effectively utilize aircraft continued airworthiness data.
  • Must be organized and an effective project manager, presenting good communication skills and a professional appearance.
  • Knowledge of aircraft interiors, composites and entertainment systems.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for structural, interior and mechanical design of complex aircraft interior and structural components.
  • Design new mechanical parts, assemblies and installations for aircraft modifications
  • Perform analysis and substantiation of new parts and installations.
  • Produce engineering drawings, reports, material lists and work instructions.
  • Provide engineering checks of data produced by peer groups or other project participants.
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing and assembly.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to engineers and Sr. engineers within the group, and mentor new engineers to operate within departmental practices and procedures.
  • Provide statements of work, cost estimates, completion schedules and other project administrative inputs.
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
