JOB SUMMARY: With minimal supervision, the Planner will work closely with the Outside Processing Manager to ensure daily shipments are met. The Planner will communicate regularly with purchasing and production staff to adjust schedules to accommodate changes in capacity, material availability or staffing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Incorporate forecasts and sales plan into Production Schedule
- Preparation of monthly schedules for assigned product lines and coordination with the overall master schedule.
- Analyze and resolve scheduling issues that would cause production delays.
- Coordinates with multiple departments to ensure production schedules are met.
- Will work with vendors and outside suppliers as required to ensure customer deliveries are met on time
- Works with minimum supervision.
- Provide sales with lead time estimates.
- Communicates upcoming scheduling conflicts with key stakeholders and recommends solutions.
- Analyzes daily back-log and forecast reports to monitor workload and capacity requirements.
- Participates in production meetings to ensure production jobs remain on schedule.
- Prepares daily reports on status of work and production issues.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year minimum experience and/or training in assembly/manufacturing or planning is required.
- Must have foundry experience
- Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite. Good Excel skills.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management – MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to develop detailed, balanced plans and schedules.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
