Plant Manager

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Plant Manager for an opportunity in Compton, CA.

Position Summary:

• Short Term Objectives:
• Ensure Plant Equipment is in working order and required maintenance is performed.
• Ensure all Materials needed for required production are available.
• Ensure Staffing is appropriate for scheduled production work to be performed including review of Backlog to assure future staffing issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Ensure Quality products are continuously produced to specification requirements.
• Ensure daily tracking and adherence to budget, adjusting short term plans to accommodate revenue dynamics.
• New Product Development: Ensure plant wide commitment to successful launches of new product. Work with The New Product Development Engineering group to achieve success.
• Productivity: Drive robust data gathering, analysis and distribution tools to support all measurable results;
•  Develop and Drive visual factory and “6S” tools, expectations and daily follow up
• Consistently apply Company and regulatory rules and policies. Where applicable, assist in developing new rules and policies.
• Drive a successful functioning of Health, Safety and Environmental programs;
•  Sales Objectives: Set and facilitate plant-wide communication expectations, including daily, weekly and monthly requirements.
• Promote employee development through proactive cross-training and job rotation;
• Ensure Production Scheduling is in line with quoted production rates thus minimizing costs and outside processing and testing charges.
• Work closely with General Manager, Human Resources and Department Supervisors to assure smooth day to day operations and all goals are met.
• Review Daily MRB and Scrap to assure any production issues are recognized and resolved in a timely manner.
• Long Term Objectives:
• Lead plant-wide development to better understand and effectively employ industry-standard concepts;
• Maintain a plant-wide customer-focused, continuous improvement program;
• Champion long-term, systematic continuous improvement of process capabilities and costs, while supporting zero defects, on-time delivery and cost competitiveness;
• Lead development of critical talent across the facility to ensure a cohesive and highly functioning team.
• Ensure specific profit improvement initiatives, both ongoing and new, including raw, WIP and finished inventory reduction, changeover time reduction and scrap/rework elimination; CGS Goal is 65% assure that there are sufficient cost out projects to support this goal.
• Ensure lean manufacturing initiatives, continuous improvement and corrective action activities; Never Ending improvement projects.
