Composite Technician II

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Composite Technician II with 3+ years experience in Mobile, AL.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Performs composite repairs related to molds, wet and pre-preg layup, repair of existing structures pertaining to Honeycomb, Carbon Kevlar and Fiberglass construction per Airbus and OEM specifications and maintaining logs in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada (TCAA) requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Composite Rework: 75%
  • Ability to perform hot or cold bond repairs per the Aircraft SRM, EAs & other approved documentation with little or no assistance.
  • Ability to identify damaged components by visual or tapping method.
  • Ability to determine proper repair technique and materials required.
  • Ability to sand, trim, prime and fit repairs to parts
  • Ability to follow directions for repair sequences, and document complete all necessary forms.
  • Ability to understand and observe all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
  • Cleans and removes any foreign objects generated during the course of effecting repairs Complies with all safety procedures at all times, without exception. -Document all work accomplished on a daily basis.
  1. Area and Process Improvement: 10%  
  • Maintain general housekeeping and cleanliness standards
  • Apply 5S to work area to improve organization and workflow
  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams to correct or improve procedures  
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements  
Qualifications and requirements: 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum three years experience working in composite repairs on commercial aircraft
  • Ability to solve practical tasks and deal with a variety of changing situations
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail
  • Ability to work with complex equipment
  • Ability to follow established procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to select and evaluate priorities
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Good verbal, written & computer skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with management, peers, and external parties
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to work within deadlines and utilize resources to meet those deadlines
  • Ability to solve practical tasks and deal with a variety of changing situations
