Diesel Technician- Orlando, FL.
1st Shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm Tu- Saturday
Exp. 3-5 years
Pay: $26-$30 based on exp.
The Diesel Technician Tractor will perform repairs on all diesel tractors and trailers also troubleshooting and estimation using diagnostic tools and corrective action Able to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s). Completes routine inspections and replacements, makes best value and safety decisions to continue to operate, repair or replace, and performs technical repairs and/or replacement. Uses American Trucking Association (ATA) system and other published and internet-based manuals and check sheets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Possess own set of tools and continually upgrades
Basic welding & cutting
Able to perform proper preventive maintenance - lube, filters, inspection – includes truck appearance, interior and exterior, cab related, safety, security
Diagnose & repair basic electrical systems– starters, alternators, batteries
Solid background in diesel tractor repair, trailer repair and maintenance.
Basic understanding of tire maintenance– tread, inflation, rotation, wear, alignment, recondition wheels
Basic understanding of exhaust related failures, DPF, DOC, EGR
Basic computer skills
Assist in parts inventory management
Basic welding & cutting
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Equivalent of high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of mechanic experience.
- Must be eligible and able to obtain CDL withing 6 months of being hired.
- Must have own tools.
- Must have own steel toe boots.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
