Job Description:The Avionics Technician role builds components for aircraft applications using a variety of avionics materials
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, Inspect, and Repair: Install and troubleshoot avionics equipment, including communication, navigation, radar, and flight control systems.
- System Testing: Perform functional and operational tests on avionics equipment and systems to ensure they meet performance specifications.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on avionics components and systems, such as autopilot, GPS, and transponder systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic malfunctions, utilizing test equipment and technical manuals.
- Calibration: Calibrate avionics systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed, in accordance with regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, etc.).
- Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards (e.g., FAA, EASA, Part 145) during all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with flight crews, maintenance teams, and engineers to ensure avionics systems are performing optimally.
- Troubleshoot Electrical Systems: Diagnose faults in electrical wiring and related systems that affect avionics performance.
- Support Aircraft Modifications: Assist in installing upgrades, modifications, or retrofits to avionics systems as required by manufacturers or aviation authorities.
Job Requirements:
- A&P License Required
- Previous experience working with avionics, or completion of a technical school program in a similar field of study
- Must provide own tools
- Ability to use and effectively manager ERP program, time clock and company intranet
- Manage time to effectively meet company priorities
- Experience with King Air or DHC-8 aircraft preferred
- Ability to:
- Crawl in and out of tight spaces
- Lay in a prone position for more than 4 hours
- Comfortably work at elevated heights of at least 40 feet for extended periods of time
- Lift balance, and carry 50 lbs.
- Work in enclosed hangars and exterior weather conditions
