JOB PURPOSE
The manager is responsible for performance of outbound/Inbound logistics in the USA and International areas, covering the collection of goods, export clearance and delivery both for domestic and internationally. The logistics manager is also responsible for receiving of company materials both indirect and materials incoming through our 145 Repair station.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting and reaching above shoulder level, crouching, kneeling, or balancing. Requires lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated: Telephone, personal computer, general office machines.
Work Location: Stores, Tool Room, Shipping, Receiving, Aircraft Maintenance Hangar and Designated Outside Areas.
Protective Equipment Required: None
Potential Hazards: Exposure to high noise levels, occasional residual odors, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets, working around moving machinery.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage the operational performance and resources of logistics team in multiple sites.
- Manage and execute arranging of transportation with selected Logistics Service Providers according to the operating model and terms & conditions incl. ensuring Logistics documentations is accurate and completed for transportation, collaboration with Logistics Service Providers for warehousing, customs brokerage, and transportation and adhering to HazMat requirements.
- Manage and further develop logistics operations to ensure optimization of on time delivery, freight cost, operational efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Operate with selected Customs Brokers and Logistics Service Providers in exports.
- Performance monitoring, management, and development of Logistics metrics.
- Responsibility of obtaining missing/requested information or facilitating documentation corrections from the customs broker in order to support customs clearance.
- Manage and execute Receiving Team functions per FAA Quality System and company requirements. Ensure that team is adhering to Quality and Customer Requirements and training.
- Receiving metric reviewed an actioned to maintain proper flow of incoming materials.
- Manage and execute process and flow for dispatching Ascent Drivers and Supply Chain vehicles.
- Properly schedule deliveries/pickups etc. amongst facilities and communicate with Purchasing and Operations for priorities.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
SMS REQUIREMENTS
- Will monitor and ensure SMS compliance, safe workplace initiatives/practices are followed, and to eliminate health hazards.
- Will enforce safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance, equipment operation requirements, safety reporting and provide resources to eliminate hazardous conditions.
- Will implement approved safety suggestions and solutions for achieving a safer, healthier workplace.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Management skills with strong interpersonal and team working skills. Solid organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, and ensure operational performance of the team.
Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required. Independent Material Logistics coursework desired. English language at professional level, both written and verbal.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in international trade and/or logistics.
Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver’s license required.
Other: May be required to international travel and work at Marana, AZ, and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
