LAUNCH is seeking a CMM Inspector for an opportunity in Kalispell, MT
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bubble design documents and manage Bills of Characteristics.
- Develop and release Deliverable Documentation Packages to accompany parts shipping to customers.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection of parts for quality and adherence to customer requirements and specifications using visual and tactile methods, and all metrology equipment including CMM operation.
- Limit overall non-conformance by early detection and continued surveillance.
- Record, analyze and report inspection results to team members, customers, and suppliers.
- Assist production personnel with first piece verification, first operation verification and in-process inspections.
- Has responsibility and authority to support and participate in continual improvement of AS9100 Quality Management System.
- Other duties as assigned, and the responsibility and authority for assigned tasks.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Associates degree or two-plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of GD&T principles including the ability to interpret GD&T symbols on design documents and verify part conformance using simple metrology.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, vendors, other company interested parties and other company employees.
- Ability to read regulatory standards, industry specifications and product design documents (drawings, part lists specifications, etc).
- Ability to use current computer programs for word processing, report writing, data entry, data analysis, math, and file control.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to hold, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employ ee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
