Aviation Technical Services, Inc. (ATS) is seeking a strategic and creative Sr. Communications Specialist with a proven track record of building effective internal communications and employee engagement programs for mid-to-large, fast-moving, organizations. The Sr. Internal Communications Specialist will drive programs relating to the company’s internal communication strategies. We are looking for a dedicated individual contributor to join our team and assist with our various communication efforts to our more than 1,500 employees. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion and excitement for our people, our business, and the history and future of ATS.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supports the Manager of Internal Communications and Culture in the strategic development and execution of a diverse range of communications in support of company priorities and initiatives.
• Creates and builds both news articles and web pages for the company intranet.
• Assists with timely project/program roll outs, including major announcement preparation and distribution of talking points, memos, key message points, fact sheets, and Q&A documents.
• Provides subject matter expertise, fostering cooperation between director of frontline communication, division communication managers, other communication specialists and corporate communication partners to ensure alignment and understanding on companywide communication strategies and messages.
• Manages communication requests, tracks activities, and measures the impact of individual campaigns while ensuring the specific needs and concerns of our different workgroups and leadership levels are considered.
• Delivers best-in-class communication collateral, including emails, stories, websites, flyers/posters, videos, presentations, and more through varied formats (e.g., internal communications and social media) dependent upon campaign type and target audience.
• Ensures proper alignment, implementation, and change management occurs to influence and manage communications consistency.
• Ensure communiqués consistently reflect the organization’s strategic vision and brand.
• Ensure consistent framing and tone of messages.
• Participates in and supports new business development, providing communications guidance and recommendations for effective employee messaging, collaborating on communications, strategic messaging, and tactics for division communications.
• Ability to optimize content for web presentation.
• Work to streamline, establish and uphold communications processes.
• Identify and track measurement benchmarks.
• Edit and revise content as necessary.
EDUCATION
• B.A./B.S in Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing.
SKILLS REQUIRED
• A minimum of 4 years of experience developing and delivering communications.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Professional and resourceful, with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences.
• Self-starting, enthusiastic and flexible approach to the organization.
• Ability to work well individually as well as a member of a team.
• Strong people and presentation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and implement tasks quickly.
• Knowledge of content management and communication methodologies.
• Collaborative and customer service-oriented.
• Strong organizational skills, with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
• Understanding of analytics and scorecard development.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.
• Comfortable executing portrait/event photography and photo editing.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS PREFERRED
• Experience executing editorial calendar.
• Microsoft SharePoint launch/management experience.
• Prezi, After Effects, VideoScribe, or other simple video creation software experience.
• Video editing working knowledge/capability.
• Basic HTML knowledge and experience with mass marketing email systems, like MailChimp.
WORK SCHEDULE
• 40 hours/week.
