Structural Technician
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Structural Technicians for an opportunity in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Structural Technicians will assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision and other structural and system components, working from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established processes and procedures. Functional test and correct, fit form and function of assemblies and components.
- Scrape off aero seal
- Unbolt window retainers
- Break apart retainer sealant with spoon and pry bars (do not use ripcord to remove seal, it will break and will have to be replaced)
- Clean sealant
- Plug all holes in window frame and block window cavity from interior of airplane
- Spray Teflon paint on back of window mating surface and window frame mating surface
- Set window
- Temp install top and bottom retainers
- Fay seal vertical retainers
- Temp install the vertical retainers
- Run fasteners down to touch the countersink (don’t torque)
- Torque per the sequence at 35lbs
- Torque again per the sequence at a range of 50lbs to 70lbs
- Install window string, aero seal
Qualifications and requirements:
- Must have prior Window Replacement experience.
Must be able to travel back and forth between Charleston, SC and Everett, WA. when needed for repairs.
- Must be willing to work any shift.
- Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
