CMM Operator

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a CMM Operator for a position in Sumner, WA

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The CMM Operator is responsible for inspection of complex parts and structures, utilizing CMM or ROMER Arm. Must be able to coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer.

 

  • First Article Inspection
  • In process inspection & final inspection
  • Provide feedback to engineers regarding dimensional data.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience required (AS9100).
  • Perform detailed inspections of composite materials, parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and mylars.
  • Perform complete First Article Inspection (FAI) and generate documentation per AS9102. The ability to create AS9102 (form1, 2 & 3) and balloon requirements using DISCUS software is a plus.
  • Perform final inspection, review customer requirements, and prepare documentation packages.
  • Support in-process inspection requirements.
  • Generate clear and concise written descriptions of inspection results and record accurate and concise descriptions of nonconforming conditions.
  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical/composite drawings and specifications.
  • Articulating Arm experience using Verisurf a plus.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • 3D-CAD experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective
  • Experience in composites (preferred)
  • Strong and collaborative relationships with upper management, peers and production team members
  • Direct problem solving, searches for root cause and addresses issues
  • Addresses conflict directly and works to resolve differences proactively

 

Education and/or Experience:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in this field.  Technical College related engineering or associate degree and a minimum of 6 years. Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in a manufacturing environment preferred.
