Director of Quality

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Director of Quality for an opportunity in Auburn, Washington. 

 

The Director of Quality is responsible for directing , planning and laying details of the inspection standards, methods and procedures used  in complying with all applicable CFR’s as well as manufacturers specifications and recommendations. The Director of Quality is responsible to the Accountable Manager and will have the final authority in airworthiness determinations and releasing of aircraft to flight status.

  • Direct report to Accountable manager on matters of regulatory relevance and Federal compliance issues
  • Assist, supervise and direct all personnel assigned to the inspection
  • Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work
  • Ensure that all inspection records reports, and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to approving the article to return to service
  • Determine that all technical data (paper or Electronic) on all articles overhauled or repaired by the Repair Station are secured and kept current with the latest revisions by the respective department Inspectors
  • Establish parts receiving inspection procedures to prevent receiving Suspect Unapproved Parts (SUPs) and assure that no defective, unserviceable or non-airworthy parts are installed on any aircraft by Advanced Helicopters Services
  • Ensure that rejected and unserviceable parts are handled in such a way that they could not be reused
  • Accomplish the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies and the Airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed outside the repair station by contract
  • Shall assure proper execution of 337 form as defined in FAR part 43 appendix B and repair station manual
  • Conduct the preliminary, hidden damage in process and final inspection of all articles processed by the repair station and record results as per the repair station
  • Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and articles as outlined in the repair station manual
  • Provide the continuity of inspection responsibilities, assuring completion of required inspection when personnel shift or assignment changes occur
  • Assure that both service difficulty report(SDR) FAA form 8070-1 and malfunction  and defect report (MDR)
  • FAA form 8010-4 are submitted as required
  • Maintain files for completed work orders and inspection forms in such a manner that the file pertaining to a specific item repaired can be readily located for review
  • Maintain the forms manual and instruct in proper usage of all form’s to personnel
  • Additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position requires management and supervision of Quality Department staff

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a quality assurance supervisory role
  • 3 years minimum in a progressive supervisory role interpreting and understanding of Federal Aviation
  • Administration FAA 14 CFR parts 43,65, 91.145 and European Aviation Safety Agency para 145 safety Regulations
  • Valid and Current FAA A&P and IA certificates
  • Basic computer literacy (Windows, Spreadsheets, Word, Power Point and Internet Functions)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid and Current FAA IA certificates

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to office noises (i.e., office machines, conversations, foot traffic). Also may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

The Director of Quality is a full-time, non-exempt employee. The work schedule is a forty (40) hour work week Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime and weekend hours maybe required. 

Travel

Occasional travel maybe requested of this position.
