Electro Trolley Technician

LAUNCH TransTechs is seeking mechanics to perform skilled electrical and mechanical work to diagnose, maintain, repair, rebuild, overhaul, service and inspect trolley vehicles and equipment in Memphis, TN.

Pay:  $20.78 per hour

Shift: M – F, 6 am – 2:30 pm

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair lighting, heating, brakes, electrical and related systems on Trolley cars.
• Perform electronic fabrication and assembly tasks such as soldering and repairing of electrical wiring.
• Perform safety and preventive maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, rebuilding, and overhauling on all parts of antique rail cars.
• Respond to service failures (road calls) as required.
• Record completed inspections and repairs using forms or electronic software systems.
• Operate a computer terminal to log work orders and parts maintenance.
• Perform re-railing of de-railed antique cars.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electrically powered rail transit vehicles OR have successfully completed trade school or an electrical/technical degree in power systems OR a combination of education and work experience providing.
• Knowledgeable of operating principles of analog and digital electronics, electrical control circuitry and associated mechanical systems.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must have own tools.
• Must have steel toe boots.

Working Conditions:

Shop, office, yard, vehicle environment, may require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs., at least once a day.
