Aerospace Plaster Technician

 

LAUNCH is seeking an Aerospace Plaster Technician for a contract to direct position in Auburn, WA         

General Position Summary:

Under general supervision, following a production schedule, manufacture molds that will be used to form composite parts.


Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Pour liquid plaster into mandrels to form molds according to Standard Work Instructions.
  • De-mold plaster parts and clean to requirements; preparing molds for curing process, doing simple light hand sanding, and removing excess plaster. 
  • Meet schedules and time allowance for production requirements.
  • Report on all production discrepancies and schedule concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform plaster repair.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental control standards.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes workplace safety.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Specific Job Skills:

  • Experience with the use of basic hand and power tools.  
  • Capable of following verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work and communicate well with a diverse work group.

 

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, and/or one-year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate requiring hearing protection in certain areas.  PPE is provided by client based on the employee’s position and exposure.
