Head of Production
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Head of Production for an opportunity in Puerto Rico.
Summary
The Head of Production is responsible for participating in strategic planning, and managing, leading and developing the production management team to efficiently deliver on our commitments to our customers ensuring all maintenance is carried out to the required standards and within agreed deadlines, whilst also achieving Company targets. The incumbent will form part of the senior management team
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leading the operations performance through the PPM process and performance dialogue, engaging with both Production and Support (both Local and Central) organisations
- Supporting Teams to identify, prioritise and resolve critical issues in a timely manner so that all project targets are achieved or exceeded
- Ensuring that a clear direction is set for and understood by production in line with the company mission and vision
- Ensuring Production personnel are motivated and engaged
- The development of all production employees both technically and, where appropriate, in their leadership and interpersonal skills
- Agreeing targets and standards with the Production Managers and holding them accountable for the achievement of all targets and the maintenance of all standards
- Conducting annual and interim appraisals for all direct reports
- Agreeing performance improvement targets with the production managers and ensuring they are achieved through sustained process improvement activities
- Ensuring systems are in place to guarantee compliance with all regulations (Part 145, EN9110, Working Time System, Company Procedures, audits etc)
- Fostering, developing and building strong working relationships between Production and Support functions
- Managing the Production Cost Centre within budget
- Other tasks or duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer including deputizing for CEO
- Support Sales and Key Account management in customer negotiations
- Ensuring customer expectations are managed satisfactorily
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant job experience or equivalent
- Experience in a leadership role for at least five (5) years
- MRO experience for at least eight (8) years (heavy maintenance)
- Qualification in Lean Management skills, or equivalent, is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different intercultural business partners
- Ability to lead, coach and motivate teams and individuals
- Strong interpersonal skills and strong change management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and with demanding deadlines
- Excellent English language skills (both written and spoken)
- Travel as required by the position
