Composite / Lay-Up Technician
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Composite / Lay-Up Technician
with composite, autoclave, and oven experience for an opportunity in Renton, Washington.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Composite / Lay-Up Technicians finish composite aircraft parts.
Sand parts by hand or with an air powered rotary sander
Applies filling agent with flex blade to unacceptable surfaces or pinholes
Re-sand filled surface, mixing potting compound and apply using air potting gun or glazing edge of parts with a brush may also be required
Inspects and feels stock to ascertain smoothness
Changes tools on powered equipment
Qualifications and requirements:
- 3+ years of experience w/basic shop equipment (band-saw, drill, grinders, etc.)
- Able to work with/around fiberglass, resins, etc.
- Performs duties with minimal supervision
- Fine hand motor skills
- Self-motivated, quick learner
- Strong attention to detail
Must be flexible and able to work independently.
- Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
- Must be willing to work any shift.
- Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
