Tractor Trailer Mechanic

Shift: 1st Sun - Wed 6:30AM - 5PM  or Wed - Sat 6:30AM- 5PM

Pay: $20.13 - $22.37 per hour, depending on experience

LAUNCH TransTechs is seeking a Tractor Trailer Mechanic in Indianapolis, IN to test, service, and repair tractors and related mechanical components.

Tractor Trailer Mechanic Duties & Responsibilities:

• Capable of diagnosing and repairing most transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air systems. 
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers including repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
• Check vehicle fluids; transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.
• Change vehicle tires Grease mechanical parts
• Perform DOT inspections as outlined in the guidelines and accuratly complete documentation.
• Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver.
• Perform 90-day lease operator inspections.
• Drive trucks in and out of the shop before and after repairs.
• Clean and maintain work area on a daily basis.
• Any other duties as assigned to support operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Equivalent of a High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of tractor experience required.
• Experience in the transportation industry a plus.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must be able to move equipment in and out of the shop.
