Mechanical Engineer

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Mechanical Engineers for an opportunity in Patuxent River, Maryland.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Flight Test Engineer supporting the F-35B and F-35C aircraft as a Test Conductor/Test Director within the F-35 Integrated Test Force, NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. Position will work with military, contractor, and civil service personnel as members of the flight test team.

 

Duties and responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and executing flight test mission requirements by:

  • Interfacing with counterparts to define test requirements and priorities.
  • Developing test plans and flight test cards,
  • Determining and communicating aircraft test requirements and configuration to responsible engineering, maintenance, instrumentation, and flight operations personnel to ensure aircraft readiness
  • Complying with published test safety plans and standard operating procedures
  • Conducting test briefings & missions after meeting qualification requirements.
  • Participating in test missions as a Test Conductor/Test Director in a mission control room.
  • Participating in reviews of flight clearance documents, and aircraft operating limits.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of flight test program status and results.
  • Evaluating results from flight activities and incorporating "lessons learned" into future test activities.

The successful applicant will be frequently required to attend briefings with the customer and representatives.

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

     

  • Extensive F-35 Test Conductor/Test Director experience.

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

     

  • Technical group lead experience.

  • Ability to pass medical requirements required to participate in shipboard testing.

     

  • Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
