Transitional Duty Coordinator

 

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Transitional Duty Coordinator for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA with our client, Major Airline.

 

The Transitional Duty Coordinator, Airport Customer Service will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing return to work and transitional duty programs for employees to ensure a consistent experience, accurate documentation and reporting, and compliance to all OSHA and Workers’ Compensation guidelines. The coordinator will act as a liaison with the employee, corporate claims, Sedgwick, medical providers, and Airport Customer Service to match employees to transitional duty roles that meet their work restrictions.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • College graduate with a degree in a related field with at least 4 years of experience in a clinical environment dealing with Workers Comp. (Master’s degree preferred.)
  • Background and experience in handling occupational and non- occupational injuries and illnesses, worker's compensation, and transitional duty programs with multi- jurisdictional oversight.
  • OSHA- Training certification or nationally recognized health/safety certification preferred
  • Must hold certificate/license or have background as medical/healthcare professional
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping requirements required.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordination & oversight of Return to Work and Transitional Duty programs for Airport Customer Service’s occupational related injuries & illnesses to ensure accurate OSHA and Workers Comp record-keeping.
  • Structure transitional duty work assignments and schedules with injured employee’s Primary Manager and Sedgwick in accordance with business requirements and H.R policy
  • Oversight of work injury policy and procedures to ensure employees are compliant with Delta and Sedgwick’s reporting and Workman’s Compensation requirements.
  • Oversight of Transitional Duty work area(s) to ensure employee’s tasks are consistent with medical restrictions.
  • Oversight of employees initiating transitional duty to ensure awareness of task description, medical restrictions, and requirements of transitional duty program.
  • Periodic oversight of employees Transitional Duty work areas and coordinating any additional or modified restrictions with their leadership, Sedgwick and H.R as needed.
  • Communication with Supervisor, Employee, Work Comp Adjustor, and or H.R in case of any employee not meeting performance expectations within the T.D program or in cases of medical non-compliance while on transitional duty.
  • Update employee’s primary leadership with employee status and expectation of return to Full Duty.
  • Oversight of the OSHA 300 log to ensure accurate record-keeping as required by OSHA.
  • Facilitate SafetyNet updates, at least weekly to maintain accurate injury status and any Lost or Restricted work days associated with the injury/illness.
  • Conduct routine audits of Workers Compensation data and SafetyNet data to identify missing injuries and ensure OSHA 300 and W/C data accuracy.
  • Administer employee updates to Delta’s medical information program to ensure HIPAA laws are being adhered to.
  • Act as Injury Liaison between Sedgwick, Corporate Claims, Medical providers and ACS.
  • Maintain list of all employees on transitional duty both current and historic for 90-120 day program compliance.
  • Maintenance of ACS Transitional Duty assignment library including updates as needed but not to exceed yearly. ? Support injury reduction efforts as a standing member of ACS Ergonomics Team.
  • Work with ACS Safety to synthesize best practice information for continuous improvement of Transitional Duty process.
