Office Clerk

 

We are currently looking to hire a office clerk/data entry to assist at our manufacturing plant in Addison, IL. This is a 4 week contract assignment, possibly longer. It is on 1st shift and pays 15/hour to start.

 

Summary Supports the Purchasing team by performing data entry, scanning documents, pursuing status updates with suppliers, and executing purchasing functions, such as PO creation and sending requests for quotes.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Supports the purchasing and planning team in essential functions.

 

Performs clerical data entry functions within company purchasing software.

 

Places purchase orders with approval of buyers and managers.

 

Issues requests for quotations to suppliers on new parts and established parts to get competitive bids and updated pricing and delivery schedules.

 

Pursues status updates with suppliers, and expedites at direction of purchasing team.

 

Employee’s primary duties require him/her to use discretion and independent judgment.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience                   

High School graduate or equivalent; Associate's degree (A. A.) in business from a college or university preferred. Experience acting as a data clerk or purchasing agent is preferred.

Language Skills                   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

 

Mathematical Skills                   

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
