Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
We are a high-tech manufacturing company who is a global supplier to the aerospace industry for machine tools and equipment. We are seeking an Industrial Machinist with mechanical experience located in Elk Grove Village, IL. The primary responsibility of the role is to perform various precision assembly and test operations on hydraulic, pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems.
High level machinist will be the machine shop expert essentially responsible for the machining of all custom components and training other employees to use equipment. This position will also use basic shop equipment, hand tools and power tools to build and repair high precision machinery at least 50% of the time. Performs this in accordance with blueprints, schematics, standard procedures, operation manuals, manufacturer's specifications and verbal instructions to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met. This position utilizes mechanical knowledge to resolve issues and problems on industrial equipment while working with senior level staff. Completes all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Pay rang is from $50-$65k MAX
Position duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assembly activity utilizes a variety of shop equipment, hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers to obtain proper build requirements
- Perform all machining of custom parts
- General
- Train other employees to use machining equipment when necessary
- Works from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions, both written and oral
- Test activity requires the use of pneumatic and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools
- Maintains dimensional accuracy on assemblies through the use of torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling and gauging.
- Positively contributes to the teamwork environment in terms of productivity, initiative, cooperation, data collection and attitude
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience utilizing basic hand tools and precision assembly tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, gauges in an industrial environment
- Minimum 5 years working with machining equipment to include, but not limited to: Mills, Lathes, Press Brakes, CNC Equipment
- Ability to read and interpret structural and detailed blueprints/drawings
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Vocational degree/certification in related field of study
- High level of machine capabilities using mills, lathes, pressbrakes, and CNC equipment
- Machine experience on: Fryer, ACER, AMADA, JET, Kalamazoo
- Basic knowledge of fabrication methods
- MIG/TIG Welding experience
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude and assembly
- Works well in a team setting and can effectively multi-task on simultaneous projects. Must also be able to work independently and stay task-oriented
- Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment with fixed project deadlines
