LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Aviation Manufacturing Engineer for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:


• The DTO Production Specialist position requires a bachelor’s degree preferably in mechanical, aerospace, industrial engineering with experience working in a jet engine maintenance production environment. • Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt preferred. • Strong computer application skills and knowledge of Airline information systems is required • Must be willing to support shop activity on some weekends during times of critical milestone execution. • Candidate must be adept at interrogating data, performing cost/benefit analysis, and championing change across departments, business units and division. • Must possess leadership, communication, and change management skills. • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate sound decision making in a high pressure, time critical environment. • Strong organizational leadership, influencing, and negotiating skills. • Ability to multi-task and drive closure of open issues/concerns. • Must be performing satisfactorily present position.

Responsibilities:


• The Production Specialist serves as shop support for Company's Engine Maintenance and Repair Facility, and leader of process improvement initiatives. • Evaluates maintenance processes by applying knowledge of product design, repair procedures, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. • Develops maintenance process improvements by studying product requirements, repair processes, work instructions, and related business practices • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, tooling requirements, and equipment layout. • Investigates production issues that arise causing inefficiencies and delays • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends • Implements Lean Manufacturing principals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. Evaluates all continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes. Employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives. • The successful candidate will be responsible for consistently practicing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. • Responsible for leading our commitment to the safety of our employees. • Ensures compliance to governmental, Company and Customer requirements. • Seeks opportunities to improve quality standards, efficiency, and competitiveness of products and services. • Provides direct, open and honest communication with the TechOps leadership team and our frontline professionals. • Directs the implementation of improvement projects through cost/benefit analysis, Theory of Constraints, LEAN, Six Sigma and 5S. • Provides seamless coordination with other business units and support organizations to achieve Delta’s corporate and divisional goals. • Advocates for others. • Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and wellbeing.
