Electrical Controls Engineer

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer in Plymouth, MI.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

This role offers project-based controls engineering within a Test Systems Division. The Controls Engineer will support Fortune 500 customers by providing "cradle to grave" technical leadership for the design, development, testing and implementation of one of a kind powertrain test systems. This individual will document, demonstrate, prepare and install solutions by developing, implementing, and designing PLC and HMI software per the requirements of the customer. This role will require extensive travel to Corpus Christi, Texas for the first (12) twelve months.

 

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in CE or EE
  • Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 (ControlLogix) experience required
  • Factory Talk or WinCC experience required
  • Network communication skills required (Ethernet/IP)
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, develop sequence of operations and convert into automatic code necessary
  • NEC and NFPA 79 knowledge preferred
  • Prior experience developing PLC and HMI software and strong controls PLC programming
  • Experience with AC drive systems (Siemens S120, Allen Bradley Power Flex drives)
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in controls systems software (Allen-Bradley /Siemens PLC) & MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Must be able to multi task and handle several projects at a time
