LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Assembly B Technician for an opportunity in Victor, NY.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Under the general supervision the assembler is responsible for reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and schematic drawings in order to assemble electronic and electro-mechanical products; enters required information into a computer system. This position works with higher level of independence. Assignments are done by following identified processes and may be required to resolve problems and to troubleshoot assembly issues that will be brought to the supervisor’s attention.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Performs routine assembly operations of a repetitive nature on electro mechanical components and subassemblies in the product line in accordance with the company's procedures for safety and quality.
  • Fits, aligns, and adjusts parts and components; Attaches hardware and seals assembly; Solders, lugs, routes, and ties electrical components.
    Works with samples, simple drawings, as well as written and verbal instructions. Uses hand tools such as long nose pliers, power screwdrivers and soldering iron to perform work.
  • Assist with final quality testing of finished systems to make sure each is functioning according to customer specifications prior to shipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of product test results and update troubleshooting logs.
  • Accept a dynamic work schedule at times, including late nights and weekends.
  • Inspects product as it is being built and refers any problem to Supervisor.
  • Daily communication with all team members and supervisor.
  • Provide high quality and timely service to all internal customers.
  • Listen to and understand customer requirements and take prompt, appropriate action that exceeds expectation.
  • Assists with continuous improvement activities and compliance to 5S program.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
    Technical/Functional skills:
  • Must be detailed-oriented and have the ability to multi-task to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information.
  • Work to develop customer relationships through collaboration, respect, professionalism, trust and integrity.
  • Ability to perform basic and routine repetitive mechanical assembly operations on components and subassemblies using fixtures, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Works to obtain operational targets within department.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is that of a typical manufacturing facility with occasional exposure to dust, vapors, heat, cold and noise.

Functional/Technical Skills:

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

     

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

     

  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve practical problems; deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data.

     

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee may occasionally stoop or crouch, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    • Sitting: Infrequent(< 2hrs day)
    • Standing: Continuous(6-8 hrs daily)
    • Walking: Frequent (2-6 hrs daily)
    • Reaching: Infrequent(< 2hrs day)
    • Lifting: Frequent (2-6 hrs daily)
    • Bending: Infrequent(< 2hrs day)
    • Climbing: Infrequent(< 2hrs day)
    • Computer and/or keyboard use: Infrequent(< 2hrs day)

Required Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • US Citizenship Required
  • 4 years of electrical/electronic assembly experience or equivalent combination.
  • Must have experience in soldering and assembly using tools such as hand tools such as long nose pliers, power screwdrivers and soldering iron.
  • Ability to perform basic and routine repetitive mechanical assembly operations on components and subassemblies using fixtures, screwdrivers, etc.

Preferred Requirements:

  • IPC 610 and J Standard 0001 Certificate Preferred; requires previous assembly experience
  • Experience with "Box Builds"
