LAUNCH is hiring a Claims & Risk Management Specialist with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a focus on organization and enhanced multitasking abilities to work with the LAUNCH Claims Department. You will report within the Operations organization and will have the opportunity to learn the aviation industry, gain experience, and be able to grow with the Company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview of Responsibilities
? Provide general administrative support for the Claims & Risk Management Dept.
? Participate in shared department administrative responsibilities.
? Operates the handling of workers’ compensation claims from open to close.
? Acts as a liaison between employee, recruiter, claims adjustor and payroll to coordinate benefits.
? Supports employee through the Workers’ Compensation process.
? Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop recommendations for actions to prevent accident/injury recurrence.
Investigation aspects of the position:
? Examine photographs (including environmental and injury photographs), video surveillance, audio clips, statements, and all other
documentation related to the claim.
? Authorize medical care and post-accident drug screening.
? Follow up regularly on missing medical dictation and drug screens.
? Ensure claims are handled in the most efficient and effective way by keeping open communication with employees, clinics, and insurance
providers.
? Implements and/or support corporate-wide return to work/transitional duty programs.
? Analyzes claim trends to develop recommendations for improved safety and claims management efforts.
? Documents telephone conversations, written statements, medical reports, accident investigation results and payment of medical bills.
? Primary point of contact and resource for employees, management team, insurance carriers, broker client advocates, attorneys, claim
examiners and medical providers on company workers’ compensation policy, procedures, and regulations.
? Initiate claims status discussions with claim examiners and attorneys to discuss claim handling improvements and/or expedite resolution.
? Work with claim examiners and managers to develop methods to control cost and severity.
? Participate in settlement negotiations, depositions, and mediations as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
? Participates in periodic claim reviews.
? Conduct regular audits of risk class codes being used.
? Conduct annual and regular training of staff on risk and safety topics.
? Create and implement educational programs to promote risk management in the organization.
? Proactively schedule/lead safety walkthroughs and inspections of client sites to prevent injuries and maintain compliance with regulatory
standards.
? Educate clients on organization’s injury protocol and processes.
? Establish and maintain organization’s health and Injury and Illness Prevention Policy.
? Prepare reports for management outlining trends for near misses, first aid injuries, and medically treated injuries. Partner with management
team to develop strategies to mitigate reoccurrence.
? Stay educated on OSHA regulations/requirements.

MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associates degree preferred
2. Experience working in an office environment
3. 3-5 years customer service, human resource, or EHS experience
4. OSHA 15-hour certficiation is a plus
