Liaison Engineer

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Liaison Engineer for an opportunity in Greensboro, North Carolina.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The Liaison Engineer will provide engineering and technical support for aircraft seat liaison engineering tasks.

  • Review designs of new seating components developed for production programs.
  • Check engineering data packages for conformance to established engineering procedures and standards.
  • Evaluate non-conformances on metallic, nonmetallic, and cosmetic parts to provide acceptance criteria or rework dispositions which maintain form, fit and function engineering requirements.
  • Coordinate with Certification engineers as needed to evaluate non-conformances against Minimum Performance Standard criteria.
  • Provide technical assistance and drawing interpretation to Manufacturing, investigate Engineering drawing errors and providing corrective action.
  • Serve as the primary focal point for internal customers regarding engineering and technical related issues.
  • Represent Engineering in the Material Review (MRB) Process
  • Develop expertise on Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR Part 21 and 25) and related regulatory requirements and processes.
  • Support other Engineering groups as workload requirements dictate.
  • Analyze and provide written disposition of production discrepancies, the knowledge of both production and design processes including repair methods are required.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of design and manufacture of machined parts, sheet metal parts, welded assemblies, nonmetals, advanced composites, new materials and/or large-scale assemblies and systems integration.
  • Assist FAA Repair Station personnel with development of repair procedures for items returned for repair or overhaul.
  • Act decisively, produce innovative solutions and demonstrate resourcefulness.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent combination of experience and coursework
  • Five (5) years experience in related engineering field in a manufacturing environment (aviation industry experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of the use and application of aviation technical data such as engineering drawings
  • Understanding of standard design review techniques
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks, highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
